Absolutely thrilled with this learning platform!

I have tried many language learning apps and software packages. Babbels combination of speech recognition plus various approaches that "osmose" content as you are leaning it is the most fun, engaging and effective language learning experience Ive had to date.

I knew a bit of Swedish before starting so was worried that I would find the beginner levels too easy, but right away I could tell this platform was going to be different since some of the exercises included sentences (and their easily-accessed translations) in addition to the basics being taught, plus the interface is almost game-like.

Beginning with simplified keyboard options, writing/spelling difficulty increases incrementally as you progress. Bite-sized modules and an inviting user experience means I am always looking forward to completing a few more exercises, and there is a lot of content organized in various categories—I can work on lessons in the order theyre presented, or focus on (e.g.) grammar, pronunciation, or food and drink vocabulary for a while.

Subscription options (3, 6 or 12 months) are attractively priced, especially if you have lots of time available. But even if you dont, signing up for a year was a no-brainer for me—especially since doing it via the App Store means a monthly cost of less than $6.

Very occasionally I have had a problem with an audio file, but after 45 lessons (each can have up to 20 or more modules) I find the quality overall is exceptional.

I have just signed up for French (6-month subscription for now, to refresh from long-ago high school classes), and if I can find the time I may add a 3rd language in the new year.
